We would like to thank you for contacting Callaway County Humane Society with interest in adopting one of our foster animals. All of our animals are important to us. We are looking to place them in loving homes where they will have veterinary care, appropriate exercise, and socialization with a family.
Adoptable Animals
ADOPTION FEES
Adoption fees can range from $100 - $300 per pet. Our rates vary from pet to pet depending on required vet care. Callaway County Humane Society takes cats and dogs of all ages, breeds and health, so our expenses greatly vary from pet to pet.
Our fees help us cover our animal’s vet care, food supplies and other expenses to keep the rescue running.
All dogs and cats being adopted from Callaway County Humane Society will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and wormed as appropriate for age and checked for fleas and ticks. Dogs will be microchipped; cats can be microchipped at the request of the adopter.
ADOPTION PROCESS
The first step is completing our adoption application.
If your application is a potential match, you will be contacted to schedule a meet and greet. After the meet and greet, both parties have the option to take a day or two to consider whether it is the right match because our pets deserve a forever home.
If everyone agrees, the adoption will take place and you will sign an adoption contract and commit to giving our rescue pet a forever home.
Our process is not first come first serve; we choose families based on the best situation for the pet

Submitting an application does not guarantee placement of the animal your are interested in.
The Callaway County Humane Society evaluates each application to ensure the animal is placed in the most suitable home.
The adoption fee for each of our available pets includes each pet being medically cleared, up-to-date vaccinations, rabies, and spay/neuter.
